Serve with World Outreach Home \ Outreach & Missions \ Serve with World Outreach Global Outreach at TFCA aims to help parishioners fully live out The Great Commission by sharing Christ’s Gospel in word and deed to the “ends of the earth”. Our hope and prayer is that by providing education, connections to global ministry partners and service opportunities abroad and “glocally” (such as with Refugee Care), we encourage spiritual and personal growth, leading to more mature Christ followers. Ultimately, TFCA’s Global Outreach exists to help our community love the Lord and to love one another in the Jesus’ name. Geographic Focus TFCA’s main geographic focus are in three countries: Nicaragua, Rwanda and India. In addition to sending short term teams to these countries, the larger TFCA family is engaged in supporting feeding programs, an orphanage, a school, as well as, efforts to bring an end to human trafficking by partnering with partner organizations and with local churches to care for the orphan, the widow and and the formerly oppressed. We also support missionaries and organizations serving in Cameroon, Eastern Europe, France, Great Britain, Nigeria, Niger, Senegal, South Africa, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, and other areas in Asia and the Middle East.Prayer for the Persecuted Church The 2nd Tuesday of every month at 7 pm. Join us for this opportunity to pray corporately for our brothers and sisters around world who are persecuted for being a believer in Jesus. We meet in the Cranmer room, 3rd floor of 6565 Arlington Blvd. Falls Church, VA 22042. For more information or building access, contact Shireen at email@example.com. Refugee CareResponding to the current Global Refugee Crisis, TFCA wants to come alongside those who have been displaced so that they might know Jesus by our love. You can help:Pray: As you consider how to help those who have lost everything, pray for them, their families, our country and our church.Shepherding Family or Group: Pray about getting further involved by being on a TFCA list as a "Shepherding Family or Group” to a family of refugees. What does this mean? Your family or group will come alongside a refugee family, welcoming them, and being their shepherd – meet them at the airport, help them settle in to their apartment, take them grocery shopping, teach them life skills for living in the U.S. etc. Here are FAQs and responses from World Relief about Refugees. Here is an interesting article from World Relief's President, Stephan Bauman: The Global Refugee Crisis: A Unique Moment for the ChurchContact: Shireen David at 1-571-282-0803 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Global Engagement Trips ("GET") Each year TFCA sends several short-term mission teams (“Global Engagement Trip" teams) to countries around the world. Through these teams, we seek to be the hands, feet and lips of Jesus Christ as we travel to places off the beaten path, embrace people who others avoid, and lovingly share the Good News of Jesus Christ through our words and service with those who have not yet heard it. This year (2017), we are pausing the GET program to re-tool and evaluate before re-launching the program in 2018. Stay Tuned! Operation Christmas Child with Samaritan's Purse Each November TFCA collects shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. A small shoebox can have a big impact. What goes into the box is fun, but what comes out of it is eternal. Children's lives all over the world are changed in Jesus' Name through the power of a simple gift with Operation Christmas Child. Last year we packed a record 628 shoeboxes! Many thanks to everyone who helped pack shoeboxes, who generously donated items for the boxes, and to the volunteers who helped me the event a success!Click HERE for the OCC page. Through our Barnabas Teams, we seek to care well for and serve alongside these faithful missionaries. These teams serve as the pastoral link between the partner and TFCA community, and serve the partner through prayer, communication, advocacy, and providing pastoral care and logistical support.
