In the Word: 1 Corinthians

In the Word offers weekly in-depth study of the Bible, typically focusing on one Biblical book at a time. Join us for our latest offering beginning December 7 as we examine 1 Corinthians. In it, the great apostle to the Gentiles carefully instructs his friends on principles of contemporary Christian living. The issues addressed are as timely today as when St. Paul penned his Spirit-inspired words around 55 AD – factions, church discipline, disputes among church members, sexuality, marriage, questionable practices, proper public worship, the Lord’s Supper, spiritual gifts, true love, and the centrality of the doctrine of resurrection. The believers in first century Corinth struggled with the problem of holy living just as we do today. In this class led by Randall Rhodes, Allen Roberts, and others, we will endeavor to mine the spiritual treasures of Paul’s epistle for rich applications to our lives as disciples of Christ.
