This four-week course is for elementary-aged children who have expressed an interest in learning more about the next sacramental step for participation in the body of Christ―Holy Communion. Children will receive instruction in the core teachings of the Christian faith through the Apostles’ Creed with a focus on the meaning and practice of Holy Communion for the life of faith. It will be held in the Ministry Center located on the Concourse (basement level) of the office building at 6565 Arlington Blvd.
Attendance is expected at all four classes. Children who miss more than one class (due to illness or emergency) may be required to attend make-up classes prior to proceeding with the Sacrament.
Parents should plan to attend class with their child(ren), but do not need to register themselves for the class.
Please be prepared to attend class online in case of weather-related issues.
(!) Trinitarian baptism is a required prerequisite to receive Holy Communion:
You will be contacted if our office does not have baptism documentation on file.
To expedite, it is recommended to locate child’s baptism certificate before class begins. A copy or digital copy is fine.
Upon completion of this class, children who have not been previously baptized will be eligible for their Baptism clergy interview.
Please register by Thursday, January 30.
