Childcare Workers

The Falls Church Anglican (TFCA) is seeking multiple part-time childcare workers to nurture our youngest children under the supervision of the Early Childhood Ministry Coordinator. Child Care Providers are responsible for the safety, security and engagement of children entrusted to their care.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create an atmosphere that conveys God’s love to young children and nurtures their developing awareness of Him, with kindness and courtesy. 
  • Interact with children using age-appropriate methods of play and instruction. 
  • Maintain a welcoming space that is safe, well-equipped, clean and nurturing in compliance with the child safety protocols.   
  • Ensure that materials are intact and are age-appropriate.   
  • Support physical and hygiene needs with snacks, diapers, restroom support.   
  • Fully comply with the Diocese of Mid Atlantic (DOMA) Prevention of Child Sexual Abuse training and expectations. 
  • Adhere to all child care policies and procedures and attend all required trainings. 
  • Report all injuries, incidents or suspicious activities to a supervisor immediately. 
  • Understand and comply with emergency procedures for evacuation and protection of the children.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships of trust and integrity with parents, children, volunteers, staff, and TFCA colleagues.

Qualifications:

We’re seeking candidates who have a strong desire to maintain the church’s reputation of spirit-filled traditional and contemporary worship services. The successful candidate will have:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Two or more years of caring for children, preferably in a facility, daycare or school setting.
  • Strong understanding of stages of childhood development.
  • CPR and First Aid training preferred.
  • Satisfactory background check.
  • Strong English communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Stamina for extended standing and ability to lift a child up to 30 pounds.
  • Flexible disposition and team-oriented approach to work.
  • Diocese of Mid Atlantic (DOMA) Prevention of Child Sexual Abuse Training (provided on hiring).
  • Agreement with TFCA’s doctrinal position (see https://www.tfcanglican.org/visit/what-we-believe)
