The Details

Join us for our TFCA Men’s Retreat 2026 as Pastor John Frederick leads us through Biblical reflections and breakouts focused on battling the thorns of sin and abiding in the nourishment of the vine for victory and resilience in Christ.

Jesus calls all people to follow him, and disciples are those who respond to his call in faith. The beginning of our walk with the Lord usually comes with limitless energy and endless enthusiasm. Yet, as we continue walking with Jesus through the increasingly complex and unpredictable seasons of life, we often find that our initial passion has ebbed, waned, or even dried up. In these seasons of spiritual struggle, we might worry that our permanent lot is to be perpetually pierced by the thorns and thistles of sinful life outside the Garden. We might even lament that our own sin pierces others, even Godβ€”thorns in the side; thorns on the crown.

Into this struggle comes a savior: Jesus Christ, whose presence and Spirit empower us for a personal spiritual revival in our inmost being. A renewed and revived life that thrives and abides, not because of our own might, but because of the might of Jesus Christ.
