The Role of the Vestry

The vestry members are the elected, lay leaders of our church. We view church leadership as the joint responsibility of the rector, the vestry, and the staff, and the partnership between all these leaders is quite remarkable. The rector exercises final oversight of the spiritual life of the congregation while the vestry oversees the temporal. We strive for a sharing of responsibility - the vestry is as concerned about spiritual formation and worship and outreach as it is about finances. The clergy and staff are as involved in temporal matters as in spiritual.

VESTRY ELECTION 2025 & VOTER ELIGIBILITY

The Elections for the Vestry, our church’s lay leadership body, will take place online January 26-February 2 To be an eligible voter, you must meet the following requirements:

  • You are a member of TFCA and do not hold voting membership at another church, including our daughter or other ACNA churches. Members must have proof of their baptisms on file with the Church. As of May 2022, new members are required to complete the Church’s Membership & Confirmation Class.

  • You are at least 16 years old.

  • You are known as a regular worshiper at TFCA.

  • You are known as a regular contributor to TFCA.

A regular contributor is someone who gives any amount to either the Church’s Operating fund or one of its building-related capital funds during the calendar year before the Vestry Election. Cash gifts must be identifiable with the giver.

Parishioners who meet the above requirements will receive an email in mid-January confirming they are registered as eligible voters. If you have questions about the requirements, please contact vnec@tfcanglican.org
