Join Us for the Global South Listening Series
We are excited to invite you to participate in a new initiative at our church, the Global South Listening Series, which will be held after Sunday services approximately once a quarter. Our first session is on November 10, 2024 from 12:30-3:00pm in the Back 40, and our guest speaker is Mr. Gil Odendaal. Gil is the previous vice president of integral mission at World Relief with more than thirty years of ministry experience as missionary, pastor, educator, leader, and public speaker. He passionately believes that creating Global North-Global South partnerships in missions is critically important today as they foster cultural respect and understanding, which are essential for effective ministry and mutual growth.
A special lunch surprise will be provided by community members associated with a TFCA-affiliated ministry.
The purpose of the series is to help inform TFCA’s path as we explore a partnership with Anglican dioceses in the Global South. A critical success factor in our partnership journey is a better understanding of the Anglican Church in the Global South and a humble posture as to how the Lord can teach us through a partnership.
These lunch meetings are an opportunity for us to learn about the Global South as we explore what it means to be the church in today's world. We will deepen our understanding of how churches in the Global South are navigating environmental, economic, and spiritual challenges—lessons that are not only instructive but also vital for us here. Together, we will examine how their resilience, faith, and strong outreach can help shape our own witness for Christ in our community.
Our partnership journey will present opportunities for parishioners to participate as well. We will discuss specific ways our church can support our Global South partner through TFCA ministries like youth ministry, healing prayer and fellows programs.
Join us for a time of fellowship and mutual growth as we pursue Christ’s mission together!
Please register on Realm no later than November 6th!
