In the Word offers in-depth study of the Bible and is led by Dan Ayre, Rich Dean and Skip Ryan. The class typically focuses on one Biblical book at a time, alternating between Old and New Testaments. Teachers provide written outlines and lead lively discussions. Newcomers and learners of all levels are welcome to join at any time!
On April 13, the class will begin a study of Numbers. It is safe to say that Numbers, the fourth of the five books of Moses, is not the most frequently studied of the canonical 66 books. Though it contains much in the way of laws and levitical regulations that we may find tedious, there is significance in this content, not to mention in the many interesting historical accounts. Numbers covers 38 of the 40 years of the Israelites' wandering in the wilderness, comprising a sad record of their grumblings and rebellion, as well as God's superintending faithfulness in bringing them, in spite of all, to the brink of their entry into the Promised Land. The spiritual lessons for the ancient children of Abraham were many, and they remain also for our benefit.
