Time: 7pm - 8:30pm Location: Sanctuary
The Apostle Paul explains that the local church, like a human body, shares a nervous system. “If one member suffers,” he writes, “all suffer together” (1 Corinthians 12:26).
The news of Gret Glyer’s death, combined with the circumstances surrounding it, sent surges of emotion through our church body. Add to this other challenges many are facing, and it seems our church could use space to prayerfully put our hurting hearts before the Lord.
It is indeed important that a church process hard things together, and do so in the presence of God. On Tuesday, July 5, from 7pm - 8:30pm, we’re opening our sanctuary to worship together, hear from Scripture, and have an extended time to pray. Prayer teams will be available to minister to individuals or groups of two or three.
Jesus calls the Holy Spirit the Comforter (John 14:26), and Paul tells us the Spirit indwells not only individuals but also the gathered community (1 Corinthians 3:16). Join me in asking the Spirit to minister to our church family at this time, not only for our own sake, but so we can then “comfort others with the comfort with which we ourselves have been comforted by God” (see 2 Corinthians 2:4).
