About Our Beloved Bookstore Manager, Becky Irvine
Becky Irvine is stepping down from her role. Becky has faithfully served as a volunteer for more than 25 years, consistently working about 20 hours per week on average, even running the store remotely when we had no place for her inventory of books, cards, and gifts. It’s hard to imagine our work together without Becky’s indefatigable spirit, always ready to serve the church with books and inspiration.
Realizing that we have no one in the wings who could mind the store with Becky’s professionalism, expertise, and care, and realizing how the book-buying world has changed, we’re accepting the fact that our bookstore’s life has come to a natural end. Becky will spend the next six weeks closing out accounts and clearing inventory. We know that the news that the bookstore is closing will be a blow to those of our parishioners who have been so blessed by it these many years.
Please join us in thanking Becky for her many years of faithful, superb, and generous service, her joyful support of all of our ministries, and her genuine sharing in the work to bring the love of Jesus to our community. Becky writes:
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, I count it as one of God’s greatest gifts that He let me be your bookstore manager for the past years. I have learned so many things such as: When God calls me to a ministry I have to remember that it belongs to Him and I am only there to assist. That when working in a secular atmosphere God calls me to present Christ and when working in a Christian atmosphere God calls me to grow in Christ. That the people at our church, both staff and congregants, provide a remarkable love that I had never experienced and that I want to provide to others. I want to thank all of you for your support, appreciation, patience, and love. I am looking forward to my next assignment. See you when we all can be back in our church.
