The one Christmas carol that stood out for me, and not only musically, but certainly the words, is “Holy Night,” or “O Holy Night.”
One particular verse that is in it ... In fact, I wrote it down here, "The King of Kings lay thus in lowly manger in all our trials born to be our friend. He knows our need, to our weakness no stranger."
That to me really sums up this just incredible humbling aspect of Christmas, of the King of Kings that actually came down for us, so that even in our weakness, we have strength.
But yet, the most important thing, he knew us before that. He's our friend, and there is no stranger. I think that part is most impactful for me out of all the carols.
