Volunteers Needed for Evening ESOL

Evening ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) is a program run by parishioners of The Falls Church Anglican. Its goals are to teach English to speakers of other languages, provide them with context for community, and show them the love of Jesus. Classes are held Monday and Wednesday evenings from 7pm to 9pm.

We are partnering with Fairfax County Police Department this Christmas season by joining the Mason District Station Pajama Drive.

We are accepting NEW, unwrapped pajamas, socks, and slippers for ages 0-17. You can drop these off in the Lower Narthex in the large box provided by F.C.P.D from December 1-22.

All ESOL program volunteers are encouraged to attend a training on Saturday, August 24, 10 a.m.–3 p.m. in Room 108 of The Learning Center. A few of our expert teachers and others will share tips and “tricks” to engage our English language learners. We will also pray for the students and ESOL program at The Falls Church Anglican.

Comunidad is looking for volunteers to serve as reading coaches with our reading program. No experience or materials are necessary! Come read and play literacy games with elementary aged students in the Willston community. We will train you in 15 minutes. **Reading coaches must be in 9th grade or older.

Laptop Donations Needed for Comunidad's Coding Class

The Middle School and High School children at the Willston Center will be joining up in a Coding Class this summer at Comunidad. We need donations of laptops for them to use. This class was extremely popular and well-attended last year and has some of our older Willston students doing the teaching this year!

If you have a laptop to donate, please send a message to Terry French and arrange to bring it to her at church this Sunday. Before donating, please perform a Factory Reset to remove all personal data from the computer. (You can easily find clear instructions on the internet for how to do this.) Thank you so much!

This requirement applies to ALL adults who will be engaging with children under our care in any capacity. This training will meet the Safeguarding Children requirement for two years.

Through our partnership with Homestretch and participation in their Sacred Homes program, TFCA has had the privilege of walking alongside two mothers and their children as they propel themselves out of poverty and into wholistic self-sufficiency.
